Clomid (Clomiphene)
Description
Clomid is nothing but a popular branded drug, Clomiphene citrate, which has been in the market since 25 years. Preliminary research has indicated that Clomiphene tends to induce the menstruation in women who due to some reason or the other do not ovulate or menstruate. In addition to the investigation and the trials conducting therein, it has shown that the Clomiphene actually helps non-ovulating women to stimulate the ovaries for egg production.
The process of Menstruation is a composite one, and is entirely based on the effect of hormones by the pituitary, ovaries, and hypothalamus. An imbalance in the level of these hormones may be the primal cause for colossal change in the ovulation cycle. That is often a cause of female infertility. Clomid may rectify the problem by regulating the secretion of hormones and stimulating the events, thereby, resulting in ovulation.
In several studies conducted on women who had normal menstrual cycles approximately, 50 to 94% women who qualified for the treatment of citrate Clomiphene achieved the desired ovulation.
