Instructions for use

Fluticasone-based drugs are available in the form of creams and ointments, the main difference between them is the amount of active ingredient: Fluticasone Ointment contains 50 micrograms of fluticasone in 1g, while 1g of cream contains 500mcg. The cream can be used in adults, children and infants older than 3 months. The drug should be applied 1-2 times per day in a thin layer to the affected area. In order to reduce the likelihood of relapse in atopic eczema the ointment is administered two times per week, once a day before the affected areas. The ointment is applied in the same way as the cream. The maximum duration of the use of ointment is 4 weeks; however, if the clinical picture has not improved within 7 days of treatment, it is necessary to make adjustments to the scheme of therapy.

Warm and humid conditions, which tend to occur under occlusive dressings increases the risk of bacterial infections. So before you apply a new bandage, the skin should be thoroughly processed antiseptic. Long-term topical application of potent glucocorticoids causes atrophic changes most often on the face.
