Methotrexate is an antitumoral medication with a pronounced immunosuppressive action. It belongs to the group of cytostatic drugs which cause death of cancer cells, and thus Methotrexate is widely used for both malignant and benign tumors. Meds is more active concerning growing of the tumor cells such as cells of malignant tumors, marrow, embryonic cells, urinary bladder, and oral cavity. Methotrexate inhibits a synthesis and reparation of the DNA cell so that a dangerous tumor stops growing and developing, and also it loses an ability to restore and correct its damages.
Indications to the use of medication are as follows: skin cancer, cancer of genitals (womb, vulva), esophagus cancer, lungs cancer, breast cancer, tumors of testicles and ovaries, cancer of liver, or kidney, severe forms of psoriasis, arthritis, and tumors of the central nervous system.
A narrow direction of the pharmacological action of Methotrexate improves effectiveness and results while using this drug, so that patients return to a healthy condition faster. Methotrexate has been used for a long time in medicine and with the help of meds millions of people were able to cope with severe cancer diseases.
Methotrexate is an effective drug which helps at severe tumor diseases, however self-treatment by it is not recommended. The contraindications to the use of Methotrexate are liver/renal failure, immunodeficiency, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, infectious diseases, herpes of any site, smallpox, allergy to this meds, and stomach ulcer.
Do not take medication during pregnancy and breast-feeding. If an urgent use of this meds is needed during lactation, a child should be on the bottle feeding.
