The most significant side effects of Ritomune are noticed, when it is used separately and in large doses.
If Ritonavir is prescribed as amplifier (in a small dosage of 100-200 mg per day), its side effects are rarely observed.
If Ritonavir is used as a separate drug side effects are common. Because today this drug is applied as a single antiretroviral agent. People with liver (hepatitis B, C) problems should take the drug with caution. Most likely (approximately 2% of patients and mainly in the first 2-3 weeks of treatment), patients, taking Ritomune notice gastrointestinal disorders - diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth and other dyspeptic symptoms, and the nervous system - drowsiness or sleep disorders, anxiety disorders.
